Southampton secured their place in the FA Cup fifth round on Tuesday with an impressive 3-0 victory over Watford. They will now face Premier League leaders Liverpool in what promises to be an exciting clash.
Sekou Mara was the standout performer for Southampton, scoring two goals in the 52nd and 58th minutes to help his team secure the win. Che Adams added a third goal late in the game to seal the victory.
Coventry also had a memorable win in the fourth round, beating Sheffield Wednesday 4-1. Callum O'Hare was the star of the match, scoring two goals to secure Coventry's spot in the fifth round. Despite facing racist abuse in a previous game, Coventry showed resilience and will now face Maidstone in a historic encounter.
Maidstone is the lowest-ranked team left in the competition and their journey has been remarkable, becoming the first club from outside the top five tiers of English football to reach the FA Cup fifth round since 1978.
The FA Cup fifth round will feature more exciting matchups. Leeds will face the winner of the Aston Villa vs. Chelsea fixture, while Nottingham Forest will host Bristol City in another replay. The fifth-round ties are scheduled to take place on February 26, 27, and 28.
Leeds United also advanced to the next round with a 4-1 win against Plymouth. Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter were among the scorers for Leeds in a rain-lashed match at Home Park.
