Sept 22, V7N - Daniel Dubois shattered Anthony Joshua's dream of becoming a three-time heavyweight world champion by knocking him out in the fifth round to retain his IBF title at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Dubois floored Joshua in the first round with a powerful right hand, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Despite taking more heavy punches in the following rounds, Joshua managed to survive until the third round, where Dubois continued to press his advantage.

By the fourth round, Joshua was struggling to stay on his feet, going down again before the round ended. In the fifth, Dubois landed a decisive right hand to Joshua’s chin, ending the fight. The former champion, unable to recover, saw his comeback hopes crushed.

Dubois, celebrating his biggest career victory, expressed his determination to reach the top of the sport, calling the win his "redemption story." The fight attracted a post-World War Two record crowd of 96,000 at Wembley, including notable figures like Liam Gallagher and boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk, who has previously beaten both Joshua and Dubois, will face Tyson Fury in a December rematch in Saudi Arabia. While Joshua once hoped to challenge the winner, his future is now uncertain, though his promoter Eddie Hearn hinted at a possible rematch with Dubois.
