Sept 24, V7N - Former Arsenal legend Ian Wright criticized Manchester City striker Erling Haaland for what he called a "cowardly" act during City's 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. The incident occurred when Haaland threw the ball at the back of Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães' head after John Stones scored in stoppage time to secure a point for City.

Despite the tension, the FA confirmed that the incident was reviewed by VAR and no further action would be taken against Haaland. Wright, however, expressed his frustration on social media, pointing out that Haaland’s action, in his view, was unsportsmanlike.

In contrast to Haaland’s behavior, Wright also commented on Arsenal’s forward Leandro Trossard, who was sent off in the first half for receiving a second yellow card after kicking the ball away following a foul on Bernardo Silva. Wright called the situation "foolishness," questioning the necessity of such a strict decision.

Wright’s disappointment with Haaland’s conduct comes despite the striker’s impressive form. Haaland, who opened the scoring in the match, has netted 10 goals in just five Premier League games this season, as he aims for his third consecutive Golden Boot.
