Dec 06 (V7N)- Instagram, the popular photo and video-sharing platform owned by Meta, is introducing a new 'reset' tool that will allow users to clear and refresh their content recommendations. This announcement comes as a relief for users who are dissatisfied with the content displayed in the Explore, Reels, and Feed sections.
A Personalized Experience
Meta announced that with the reset feature, users will gain greater control over the content they see. By pressing the reset button, users can wipe out existing recommendations and restart with a clean slate. Over time, Instagram will re-personalize content based on the accounts users follow and interact with.
How to Use the Reset Feature
Meta outlined the steps for using this upcoming tool:
- Navigate to Settings > About in the Instagram app.
- Go to Content Preferences.
- Select Reset Suggested Content.
During the reset process, the app will temporarily display only content from followed accounts. This also provides users an opportunity to unfollow accounts sharing undesirable content.
Global Rollout in Progress
Currently, the reset feature is in the testing phase, with plans for a global rollout soon. Meta emphasized that the tool is part of its ongoing efforts to improve user satisfaction and provide a more tailored experience.
This feature marks another step in Instagram's commitment to empowering users with greater control over their social media experience.
