In a bid to enhance user productivity and convenience, WhatsApp has rolled out a new experimental feature called 'App Dialer'. This feature allows users to make phone calls directly through WhatsApp without the need to save the contact number first.

According to reports from WhatsApp information website WAbetinfo, the 'App Dialer' feature is currently in the experimental stage and has been spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp (2.24.9.28). The feature includes a phone-like T9 keypad at the bottom of the screen, along with a green dial button. Users can simply enter the desired phone number and initiate the call, even if the number is not saved in their phone contacts.

WhatsApp's 'App Dialer' feature is reminiscent of a similar messaging feature introduced earlier, which allows users to send messages to WhatsApp accounts without saving the contact number. As with messaging, calls made through WhatsApp are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring user privacy and security.

In addition to the 'App Dialer' feature, WhatsApp is also working on other enhancements, including a 'Local File Sharing' feature that allows users to share files, such as pictures and videos, without internet connectivity. This feature will enable users to send files to nearby WhatsApp accounts, with the shared files being encrypted and users' numbers kept private.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is introducing a feature that allows users to add notes to phone numbers, providing a convenient way to organize and manage contacts. These notes will be visible only to the user who created them and will not be accessible to the contact associated with the number.

While WhatsApp has not provided official details about these features yet, they are expected to be rolled out for both the mobile app and web version of WhatsApp in the near future, offering users additional functionalities to enhance their messaging and communication experience.
