The year 2024 began with a noticeable surge in the number of smartphone releases, especially in the midrange segment. On January 11, the well-known smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi introduced the POCO X6 Pro to the Indian market. The gadget adds a number of cutting-edge innovations while keeping numerous essential components from its predecessor. Let's examine the Xiaomi POCO X6 Pro's main features, benefits, drawbacks, and cost in Bangladesh.

POCO X6 Pro Key Features:

Price of POCO X6 Pro:

There are two configurations of the Poco X6 Pro available in India. At Rs. 26,999, the base model comes with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The higher-end model we evaluated, which has 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM, costs Rs. 28,999.

Design:

The Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro has an elegant appearance. It weighs 186 g or 190 g and has dimensions of 160.5 mm by 74.3 mm by 8.3 mm. It blends style and durability with a glass front (Gorilla Glass 5) and choices for a plastic or eco-leather back. The smartphone has an IP54 grade for dust and splash protection and has dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).

The rear has an eye-catching glass surface, however it is fingerprint-prone. The smooth integration of the rear camera island guarantees stability on level ground. Power and volume controls are located on the right side of the flat, metallic-finished plastic frame, along with a secondary speaker, secondary microphone, IR blaster, USB-C connector, primary speaker, primary microphone, and a detachable SIM slot on the bottom.

The phone's tiny bezels and flat display dominate the front, providing a seamless user experience. Its lightweight design and moderate thickness also add to the phone's overall appeal.

Display:

With an astounding 6.67-inch AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1.5K resolution (2712 by 1220 pixels), the Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro is truly amazing. The images are vivid, with a 12-bit color depth providing 68 billion hues. With HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, the panel offers remarkable contrast and color accuracy. Its maximum brightness of 1800 nits ensures exceptional visibility in bright outdoor environments and improves the HDR video viewing experience. Strong protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The display is accurate in touch recognition and responsive in real-world applications. POCO brings convenience to the display by allowing it to be used with wet fingers. A number of pre-set color schemes, such as "Original Colour PRO," are included to guarantee accurate and realistic color reproduction. All things considered, the POCO X6 Pro's display is notable for its brightness, clarity, and flexibility to different situations, guaranteeing the best possible visual experience.

Performance:

Strong performance is something that the POCO X6 Pro is renowned for, and it delivers on that promise. The robust MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra 4nm CPU powers it. It has a large 512GB storage capacity with UFS 4.0 technology and a powerful 12GB RAM.

This combination turns the phone into a true powerhouse that keeps running smoothly even after prolonged use. POCO clearly has a strong emphasis on gaming because it can play hard games like Genshin Impact at the maximum settings with ease.

Even while precise GPU test information was unavailable prior to launch, the phone shows its worth by handling graphics-intensive applications with ease. Geekbench scores for the CPU are outstanding; they surpass the Poco X5 Pro 5G from the previous year and outperform more costly mid-range phones like the Pixel 7a and Galaxy A54. POCO X6 Pro distinguishes itself in its class with its flagship-like capabilities enhanced by the chip's support for on-device Generative AI.

Software:

With enhanced transition effects, adjustable lock screen designs, new fingerprint animations, and AI-based object detection in photographs with background altering options, the POCO X6 Pro runs Xiaomi HyperOS, an Android 14-based operating system.

A few flaws in the original edition are the edit option's alignment issues and the absence of setting options in the control center. Chinese lettering may appear on some pre-set lock screen styles, but it may be changed to English. Artificial Intelligence for photo object recognition is not always reliable.

Camera:

With three distinct camera configurations, the Poco X6 Pro is most notable for its wide-angle 64 MP sensor, which has an amazing f/1.7 aperture, a 25mm focal length, and optical image stabilization. It comes with a 2 MP (f/2.4) macro lens and an 8 MP (f/2.2) ultrawide lens with a 120˚ field of view.

Although the primary camera performs best in well-lit environments, offering vivid and detailed shots, the ultrawide lens works well for wide-angle cityscapes. But the macro lens doesn't live up to the hype.

With gyro-EIS, the rear camera system records movies in 1080p at 30/60 frames per second and 4K at 24/30 frames per second. It also has panorama, HDR, and LED flash capabilities.

The 16 MP (f/2.4) front camera records movies at 1080p/30/60 frames per second and supports HDR and panoramic capabilities. The results are satisfactory. Although it performs satisfactorily, the front camera's HDR is not as good as the rear cameras'.

With some significant drawbacks and notable strengths, the Poco X6 Pro's camera system provides a well-rounded photographic experience overall.

Bettary & Charging:

With a large 5,000 mAh battery, the POCO X6 Pro guarantees a long on-battery life—it may last over a full day with normal use. Even though power-hungry tasks like extended video recording, photo editing, and gaming inevitably need more battery, the 67W wired charging is particularly noteworthy because it quickly charges the battery in less than an hour.

Is it value for money ?

Despite its imperfections, the POCO X6 Pro remains a strong option for those looking for a midrange smartphone. Its well-executed design, vivid display with thin bezels, strong stereo speakers, feature-rich camera setup, highly adjustable user interface, and excellent performance are some of its strong points.

Notwithstanding certain shortcomings, most notably in the UI, these problems might be fixed by firmware upgrades if POCO decides to make enhancements. The Xiaomi POCO X6 Pro phone is a respectable competitor in the midrange market because its advantages exceed its disadvantages overall.
