Jhalokathi, Dec 22 (V7N) — A free eye care camp was held on Sunday, December 21, at the Sharif Bari Jame Mosque premises in Talghoria, Kathalia, Jhalokathi. The camp, organized by the Lions Club of Dhaka Law and Jurists with support from Matir Tan Foundation, provided medical services to local residents.

Around 30 doctors, technicians, and members of the Dhaka Lions Club participated in the camp. Over a thousand men, women, and children received examinations for various eye disorders and diabetes. Patients were provided with free medicines and eyeglasses. Those requiring surgical procedures were referred to hospitals in Dhaka for free operations.

The camp was attended by Sharif Manjurul Haq Badal, Chairperson of Matir Tan Foundation; Ubaidul Haq Sharif, President of Lions Club of Gulshan Heritage; Advocate Riazul Haq Bashir, President of Lions Club of Dhaka Law and Jurists; Lion Raihan Shifa; DG Muhammad Belal Hossain of Lions International; Fast Vice Governor Dr. Asadullah Ahmed Dulal; Dr. Kazi Dilkusha Ahmed; S. K. Kamrul; Lion Farhana Baksh; Cabinet Secretary Md. Zakir Hossain; Md. Osman Gani; Convention Chairperson Md. Refat Ullah; and Lion Md. Abdullah.

Officials and participants emphasized the importance of raising awareness about eye health and providing accessible care to underserved communities, highlighting the camp’s role in preventing blindness and improving overall health in the region.
