Swabi, Sep 27 (V7N)– At least one person was killed, and 18 others were injured in an explosion at a police station in the Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, on Thursday. Javed Marwat, Commissioner of Mardan Division, confirmed the incident.

According to preliminary reports, the explosion was caused by a short circuit in a warehouse on the first floor of the police station. The blast ignited a fire, but firefighters were able to bring it under control swiftly. Rescue teams evacuated the injured and transported them to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, where 15 policemen received treatment.

Chief Minister Ali Amin has called for an immediate investigation into the explosion, ordering both the Inspector General and Chief Secretary of Swabi to visit the site and submit a detailed report on the incident's cause.

Meanwhile, Harun Rashid, the Swabi District Police Officer, stated that the total number of injured people has risen to 33, with patients being admitted to various hospitals. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact nature of the explosion.
