Kanpur, Oct 04 (V7N) — A couple from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, extorted Rs 35 crore from elderly victims by falsely claiming to possess an "Israeli-made time machine" capable of reducing their age. Rajeev Kumar Dubey and his wife Rashmi Dubey operated the scam through a therapy center called Revival World, according to local police.

The couple convinced elderly customers that they could transform their physical age from 60 to 25 using a machine purportedly imported from Israel. The fraudulent scheme was centred around "oxygen therapy," which they claimed would restore youth and slow down aging caused by polluted air.

To lure customers, the Dubeys offered packages ranging from Rs 6,000 for 10 therapy sessions to Rs 90,000 for three years. Victims like Renu Singh reported losing large sums, with Singh herself claiming a loss of Rs 10.75 lakh. She further alleged that hundreds of elderly individuals had been duped by the scheme.

Senior police officer Anjali Biswakarma stated that a case of fraud has been registered based on customer complaints. Authorities are currently searching for the couple, who are suspected to have fled abroad with the stolen money.

Indian media outlet NDTV reported that many victims believe the couple may have left the country to evade arrest.
