Northglenn, Colorado, Nov 02, (V7N) — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a Halloween party in Northglenn, a suburb of Denver, leaving three people dead and three others injured.
 
The shooting happened just after midnight on Friday. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that gunfire had broken out at a large house party. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while five others with gunshot wounds were taken to local hospitals. Two of those individuals later died from their injuries.
 
Currently, no suspects are in custody, and police report there are no ongoing threats to the community. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, pending notification of their families.
 
As a precaution, a temporary shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents.
 
This incident adds to a troubling trend in the U.S., where there have been over 440 mass shootings reported this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines mass shootings as incidents with four or more victims.
