According to the Reuters report, the British-registered cargo ship flying the flag of the Central American country of Belize was attacked. The ship was heading to Bulgaria from the United Arab Emirates. At that time, a missile fired from the coast of Yemen hit it.
Originally, the vessel was located 35 nautical miles south of the Yemeni coast. There was an explosion after the attack. As a result, the ship was heavily damaged. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
It should be noted that the Houthis have been targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden since last November in protest of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.
