Kazakhstan, Nov 29 (V7N)— Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep concern over the safety of US President-elect Donald Trump following a series of attacks and bomb threats targeting his administration's appointees during the election campaign.
Speaking at a summit in Kazakhstan, Putin described Trump as an experienced and intelligent politician but emphasized that the US leader was treated "in an absolutely barbaric and inhumane manner" during the campaign. He also noted that Trump still faces potential threats to his safety, particularly after two separate gunmen attempted to harm him — one in Pennsylvania last July and another at a golf course in Florida.
Putin voiced his hope that Trump, whom he regards as a sharp and strategic thinker, will exercise caution moving forward. He acknowledged that such incidents of violence have occurred throughout U.S. history but stressed that the situation remains concerning. "I think Trump is intelligent, and I hope he will be careful and understand things," Putin said.
The comments were made in response to questions from reporters and were covered by Sky and Fox News.
