Syria, Dec 10 (V7N) – Syrian rebels currently in control of Damascus have named Mohammed al-Bashir as the head of a transitional government, which will oversee the administration until March 1, according to state media reports on Tuesday.

"The general command has entrusted us with managing the transitional government until March 1," a statement attributed to Bashir announced via the state television's Telegram channel. The statement referred to him as "the new Syrian prime minister."
