Bolu, Jan 21 (V7N)— A devastating fire engulfed a 12-story wooden hotel at the Kartalkaya Ski Resort in central Turkey's Bolu province, killing at least 10 people and injuring 32 others. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

The fire reportedly broke out at 3:27 a.m. local time in the Grand Kartal Hotel's restaurant area and spread rapidly throughout the structure, which is located at the top of the mountain in the popular ski resort.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames and rescue those trapped inside. Local media reported that 234 guests were staying at the hotel, with the majority of them vacationing at the time of the incident.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and an investigation is underway. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, while firefighters continued their efforts to secure the area.

The tragedy has cast a shadow over the popular tourist destination, as officials and local authorities work to support victims and their families.
