Mexico City, Jan 31(V7N)Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari has officially begun his tenure as Bangladesh's Ambassador to Mexico, presenting his credentials to Jonathan Site, Head of Protocol at the Mexican Foreign Ministry. The announcement was made via his verified Facebook page on Friday.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mushfiqul expressed his gratitude for the support extended by the Mexican Foreign Ministry and reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic relations with Mexico.

Diplomatic Priorities and Reforms

Mushfiqul highlighted the reform initiatives undertaken by the interim government of Bangladesh, led by Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He emphasized that these reforms are aimed at promoting good governance, democracy, political reforms, economic development, and ensuring free, fair, and inclusive elections.

The Mexican protocol chief praised Mushfiqul for his contributions to human rights, democracy, and press freedom. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Mexico. Director General for Asia Pacific, Fernando G. Saif, was also present at the meeting.

Ambassadorial Appointment and Background

Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari officially took office as Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Mexico on January 27, 2025. He shared his excitement on social media, posting a picture from his first day on the job.

His appointment was first announced on October 21, 2024, through a notification from the Contracts and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration. The notification stated that he was appointed on a contractual basis for three years, with restrictions on engaging in any other profession or business.

Reflecting on his new role, Ambassador Mushfiqul expressed his deep honor in serving under Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, calling it a prestigious opportunity to contribute to Bangladesh’s diplomatic and strategic interests on the global stage.
