Gaza, Apr 10 (V7N) – At least 35 people, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, according to reports from Al Jazeera on Thursday.
The deadly strike left 55 others injured, and 80 people are feared to be trapped under the rubble, as multiple airstrikes targeted residential areas in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that since March 18, Israeli airstrikes have led to the deaths of around 1,500 Palestinians and injured more than 3,700. This marks a significant escalation following the violation of a ceasefire agreement by Israeli forces.
The ongoing violence has resulted in immense casualties, with the toll of Palestinian lives lost continuing to rise since the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023. To date, more than 50,800 Palestinians have been killed, and over 115,000 have been injured in the recent conflict, which has drawn widespread international condemnation.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with humanitarian efforts and ceasefire negotiations ongoing amid mounting casualties.
