Moscow, June 7 (V7N) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended heartfelt Eid al-Adha greetings to the global Muslim community. In Russia, the festival is celebrated as Kurban Bayram, and it holds great cultural and spiritual significance among Russian Muslims.

According to a report by Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, President Putin's message was published on the official Kremlin website. In his statement, he emphasized that the celebration of Kurban Bayram reflects deep-rooted values of kindness and compassion, passed down through generations.

“By celebrating Kurban Bayram, Muslims continue the noble traditions of their ancestors, teaching the values of mercy, mutual respect, and care for others,” Putin said.

Highlighting the role of Muslims in Russian society, the President added, “The Muslim community actively contributes to our country’s life through national and international organizations. Their involvement in cultural, educational, and community initiatives for the betterment of Russia deserves special respect and appreciation.”

Putin’s statement comes at a time when millions of Muslims across Russia and around the world are marking Eid al-Adha with religious fervor, prayers, and the ritual sacrifice symbolizing devotion and charity.
