Vienna, Mar 11 (V7N) – Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has said that more than 200 kilograms of Iranian enriched uranium may still be stored in a tunnel facility in Isfahan, according to a report by Iran International.
Grossi noted that even after the joint US and Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June last year, uranium enriched to 60 percent purity was believed to remain in the underground tunnel complex in Isfahan. Analysts say the material could still be stored there.
According to information previously provided by the IAEA, around 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent existed in Iran in June 2025, following an Israeli attack on the country’s nuclear sites. It is believed that about half of that stockpile was kept in the Isfahan facility.
Grossi said that during the agency’s most recent inspection, more than 200 kilograms of enriched uranium were still believed to be present in the location.
The remarks have renewed international attention on Iran’s nuclear program, particularly regarding the monitoring and security of enriched uranium stockpiles.
