Washington, Mar 15 (V7N) — Donald Trump, President of the United States, has expressed hope that several countries will deploy warships to protect the Strait of Hormuz amid rising tensions with Iran.

In a message posted on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday (March 14), Trump said countries affected by Iran’s attempts to block the strategic waterway — including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom — should send naval forces to the region.

Trump claimed that the United States had already destroyed “100 percent of Iran’s military capability.” However, he warned that even after suffering losses, Iran could still carry out limited attacks.

“Even if they are defeated, it would be easy for them to send a drone or two, lay mines, or fire short-range missiles somewhere in this waterway,” he wrote.

The U.S. president also said that American forces would continue bombing Iran’s coastline and push Iranian ships and vessels out of the waters during this period.

Trump added that the Strait of Hormuz will be kept safe and open by any means necessary, emphasizing the importance of the waterway for global energy shipments.
