Reports have emerged indicating the death of senior Palestinian physician Adnan al-Bursh in an Israeli prison after more than four months of detention, as conveyed by the Gaza health ministry and Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups, as reported by CNN.

According to Al Jazeera, al-Bursh, aged 50, was the head of orthopedics at Al Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest medical center. He was detained by Israeli forces while temporarily working at Al-Awada Hospital in northern Gaza.

The circumstances surrounding al-Bursh's death have raised serious concerns, with the head of orthopedics describing it as a homicide. Despite his passing, al-Bursh's body remains in Israeli custody. Israeli military spokesman confirmed that al-Bursh was declared dead on April 19 while being detained in Ofer prison for reasons related to national security. However, no information regarding the cause of death has been provided by the spokesman.

The death of al-Bursh in Israeli custody has sparked outrage and calls for accountability from Palestinian authorities and international human rights organizations, demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
