The US Central Command (Centcom) has reported the destruction of three Houthi drones in the Red Sea, as revealed in a statement issued on Saturday. According to Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera, the Iran-backed group targeted a US ship with the drones, though no damage was incurred in the attack. This development follows Centcom's earlier claim of destroying a Houthi-launched drone in the Gulf of Aden on Friday.

Amid the ongoing Israeli invasion of Gaza, Houthi rebels have escalated their targeting of ships affiliated with Israel and its allies. The group has indicated a willingness to cease attacks in the Red Sea contingent upon Israel halting its offensive in Gaza. Responding to these provocations, the United States has assembled a multinational naval task force comprising partners such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and France to address the threat posed by the Houthi rebels.
