Karnataka, June 28 2024 – In a tragic road accident in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, 13 people lost their lives and several others were injured when a minibus collided with a parked truck on the Pune-Bangalore highway early Friday morning.

According to reports, the accident occurred near the Gundenahalli crossing in Haveri district at around 4:30 am. The minibus, carrying 17 passengers, hit a truck that was parked on the highway, resulting in the immediate deaths of 11 people. Two additional victims succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The deceased were residents of Shivamoga and were returning home from a pilgrimage to Belagavi district. The collision left four others injured, who are currently receiving medical care.

The accident has prompted an outpouring of grief and concern from the local community and authorities. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured and transport them to nearby medical facilities.
