Mumbai, June 29 2023 — A devastating collision between two vehicles on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway resulted in the deaths of six people on the spot and left five others injured, according to NDTV.

The accident occurred around 11 PM on Friday near Kadwanchi village in Jalna district, approximately 400 kilometers from Mumbai. 

Reports indicate that the tragedy unfolded when a Swift Dzire, entering the highway from the wrong direction after refueling, collided head-on with an Ertiga car. The Ertiga was traveling from Nagpur to Mumbai when the impact caused it to crash into the highway barricade and become severely mangled.

Upon receiving news of the accident, highway and Jalna police promptly arrived at the scene. The injured were quickly rescued and transported to the district hospital for treatment.

The incident has highlighted the critical need for adherence to traffic regulations and improved road safety measures on India's busy highways. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the tragic accident.
