Moscow, June 29 2024 — The Muslim-majority Chechen Republic of Russia is providing apartments to 200 Palestinians displaced from Gaza, as reported by Russian media outlet RT.

The initiative, announced by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov in November last year, has now come to fruition. Kadyrov had promised to provide housing for displaced Palestinians, and he has kept that promise.

A charity organization run by Aymani Kadyrov, Ramzan Kadyrov's mother, has constructed five apartment buildings in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya. These buildings will shelter 209 Palestinians, offering them permanent residence.

This gesture underscores Chechnya's commitment to supporting displaced Palestinians and providing them with stable living conditions amidst ongoing conflicts in their homeland.
