Jasper, July 26– A massive wildfire has wreaked havoc in the tourist town of Jasper, leading to the evacuation of at least 25,000 residents on Thursday. Flames reportedly reached heights of 400 feet and spread at a rate of 15 meters per minute, according to the Associated Press.

The fire, which originated in Jasper National Park, has caused extensive damage and added to the hundreds of wildfires currently blazing across Canada's western provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. At least 400 fires have been reported in British Columbia, and 176 in Alberta.
