India, July 31 (V7N) – In southern India, rescue teams are racing against time after landslides caused by heavy rains have claimed at least 151 lives. The landslides struck Kerala’s Wayanad district early Tuesday, sweeping through tea estates and villages, and leaving a trail of devastation.

As of Wednesday, more than 186 people have been reported injured, and over 300 rescuers are on the ground searching through the debris. Their efforts are being challenged by blocked roads and unstable terrain. Overnight, rescuers uncovered more bodies, highlighting the scale of the disaster.
