An Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank has resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians, according to Palestinian sources and the Israeli military. The strike took place in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus and coincided with Jewish worshippers visiting the nearby contested holy site, Joseph's Tomb.

The Palestinian health ministry reported that two young men, aged 18 and 20, were killed in the strike, with seven others injured, including a woman and a child. The official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, described the incident as a "drone strike."

The Israeli military confirmed the strike, stating that two armed militants were targeted and eliminated as they posed a threat to Israeli forces operating in the area. The military further clarified that the strike was conducted to secure the access of worshippers to Joseph's Tomb, a site of religious significance to both Jews and Muslims.

Violence in the West Bank has intensified since the beginning of the Gaza conflict on October 7, with at least 627 Palestinians reported killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the region. During the same period, at least 18 Israelis, including soldiers, have been killed in the West Bank in attacks by Palestinians.
