Siliguri, August 16 — The New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police have arrested two individuals, including a juvenile, in connection with an alleged gang rape reported in Siliguri. 

According to local authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday evening when the victim, a young girl, accompanied the two accused to the Kawakhali area. The individuals were reportedly acquaintances she had met through social media. 

After returning home, the girl informed her family of the incident, who subsequently filed a complaint with the NJP police. Acting on the complaint, the police promptly arrested the two suspects.

The victim has been admitted to North Bengal Medical College Hospital for a medical examination and is receiving treatment.

Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar confirmed the arrests, stating that both suspects are known to the victim and that the investigation is ongoing.
