Kolkata, Aug 26 (V7N): Five Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Tripura police and India's Border Security Force on Sunday after they illegally crossed into Indian territory. The arrests were made during a coordinated operation based on intelligence about the illegal entry of Bangladeshis in Lankamura town, near Agartala's outskirts, as confirmed by Inspector Paritosh Das, the officer-in-charge of West Agartala police station, according to NDTV.

The detainees, who are all from Chapainawabganj in Bangladesh's Rajshahi division, admitted their nationality during questioning. The police plan to present them in court in Agartala and seek remand for further interrogation to uncover and arrest others involved in the illegal crossing at the Indo-Bangladesh border.
