Sana’a, Sep 17 (V7N)– Yemen’s Houthi rebels have pledged their support for Hezbollah and Hamas in the wake of Israel's ongoing military campaign in Gaza. The Houthi movement, also known as Ansarullah, has offered to send "thousands of trained fighters" to assist Hezbollah in Lebanon should the need arise. This statement was made by Nasruddin Amer, vice president of the Ansarullah media affairs authority, during an interview with the Palestinian Shehab news agency on Monday, as reported by Tehran-based Perstood.

"We will support Hezbollah just as we support our brothers in Palestine’s resistance struggle," said Amer, signaling further regional cooperation against Israel’s military actions. The Houthis’ announcement comes amid escalating threats from Israel to launch a wide-scale assault on Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah.

Houthi fighters have already initiated anti-Israeli operations, attacking Israeli ships in the Red Sea in protest against Israel’s ongoing airstrikes and ground offensives in Gaza. The Houthis have declared their intent to target any vessel heading to Israeli ports.

Analysts warn that an Israeli assault on Lebanon could trigger a broader conflict, with Hezbollah fighters backed by Houthi forces and Iraqi resistance groups. Such a scenario could strain Israel’s military capacity, potentially leading to a prolonged and difficult conflict.

This comes after Hamas launched its largest military operation in a decade against Israel on October 7, leading to a devastating Israeli counterattack. Over 41,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, the majority of whom are women and children, while the number of injured and missing continues to rise.

As tensions continue to mount in the region, the Houthis have made it clear that their involvement will extend beyond Yemen, further intensifying an already volatile situation.
