Ramallah, Sep 22 (V7N)-  Israeli occupying forces raided the Al-Jazeera office in Ramallah, located in the occupied West Bank, on Sunday morning, ordering the suspension of its operations for 45 days. The Qatar-based media outlet broadcast the raid live, showing Israeli forces entering the premises and handing over a military order to a staff member before the broadcast was cut off.

The move has been widely condemned by the Palestinian Journalists' Council, which criticized Israel for its continued interference in the work of journalists. In a statement, the council said, "Through such arbitrary military decisions, the work of journalists has been interfered with again." The council argued that the raid was a direct result of Al-Jazeera's coverage of Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people.

This is not the first time Israeli authorities have targeted Al-Jazeera. In May of this year, Israeli forces raided a hotel room in Jerusalem where the channel had temporarily set up its office after being forced to shut down its local operations. Israeli authorities have accused Al-Jazeera of threatening the country's national security through its coverage of events in the region.

The raid on the Ramallah office underscores the ongoing tensions between Israel and the press, especially those covering the plight of Palestinians under occupation.
