Dhaka, Jan 17 (V7N) — Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Forest, Environment, and Climate, emphasised the importance of preserving nature amid infrastructure development. Speaking at the 15th National Nature Conference at Notre Dame College on Friday morning, she urged people to prioritise protecting soil, water, and air.
“Nature’s irreplaceable elements must not be destroyed in the name of progress,” she stated, adding that lessons should be drawn from the environmental challenges faced in California and Los Angeles.
Highlighting the eco-consciousness of the younger generation, she encouraged their active participation in environmental protection efforts. She also advocated for the use of glass bottles over plastic, suggesting simple but impactful steps towards sustainability.
The two-day conference, organised at Notre Dame College, has brought together 1,200 students from 12 districts. The event aims to inspire youth to take the lead in preserving the environment and addressing climate challenges.
The 15th National Nature Conference continues with workshops, discussions, and activities aimed at fostering awareness and action for a sustainable future.
