Rangamati, Aug 19 (V7N) – In a special emergency meeting, the Rangamati District Police convened with over fifty residential hotel owners to discuss measures aimed at ensuring the safety of incoming tourists, stopping antisocial activities, and fostering a tourist-friendly environment in the hill town of Rangamati.

The meeting took place on Monday afternoon at the conference hall of the Rangamati Chamber of Commerce building. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Nadira Nur and Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Mohammad Sahed Uddin exchanged views with owners from nearly 55 residential hotels in Rangamati town.

The session was presided over by Mostafa Kamal Uddin, President of the Rangamati Residential Hotel Owners Multipurpose Cooperative Society, while Yusuf Chowdhury, General Secretary of the organization, moderated the meeting.

Police officials emphasized that any illegal or antisocial activities including drug trafficking occurring in hotels will be strictly prohibited regardless of the ownership or management. They warned that those found involved will be held accountable under the law.

Rangamati, being a prominent tourist destination, regularly attracts numerous visitors who stay overnight in residential hotels. The police urged hotel owners to take necessary measures to guarantee overall security and provide all lawful amenities to guests.

Additionally, the authorities highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, improving customer service through staff training, and protecting the environment to create a more welcoming atmosphere for tourists.
