Dhaka, Jan 19 (V7N) — The government is receiving a favourable response from donor agencies regarding financing, said Finance Advisor Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed. He shared this during the inaugural ceremony of the Karmasangsthan Bank Managers' Conference on Sunday morning.

Dr. Saleh Uddin highlighted the need to diversify the bank's loan portfolio and emphasised that loan activities must be closely monitored to ensure their effectiveness. He also stated that efforts would be made to strengthen Karmasangsthan Bank's operations without compromising its core objectives. "Converting Karmasangsthan Bank into a general bank would deviate from its mission," he cautioned.

Bangladesh Bank Governor, who also spoke at the event, expressed optimism about the bank's potential. He noted that increasing funds could enhance the impact of Karmasangsthan Bank in promoting employment and supporting social security programs. Additionally, the Governor stressed the importance of digitalisation to address manpower shortages and improve efficiency in operations.

The conference brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategies for enhancing the bank's role in creating employment opportunities and fostering economic development.
