Dr. Samanta Lal Sen, the health minister of Bangladesh, has demanded that Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) and the Public Works Ministry take strict measures to prevent further tragedies following the horrific fire on Bailey Road that took 46 lives.

During his speech on Saturday, the Minister conveyed his deep sadness for the tragedy and the need for strict safety protocols.

"To ensure that such a tragedy is never repeated, Rajuk and the Public Works Ministry must adopt a proactive stance," Dr. Sen said following his attendance at the 23rd International Scientific Seminar in Dhaka.

He underlined how important it is that these agencies carry out in-depth inspections to identify structures that are at risk of fire. Dr. Sen thinks that by doing this, the number of fire occurrences may be greatly decreased in the future.

Dr. Sen spoke on fire safety as well as the condition of healthcare facilities in Bangladesh, arguing that to satisfy the demands of the general public, government and private hospitals should coexist. He did, however, stress that all healthcare facilities follow the rules and guidelines that have been set down.

Hospital regulations are set in stone. To safeguard the security and welfare of our residents, we will continue to push back against anomalies and noncompliance in healthcare institutions," he said.
