Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) –“China maintains good relations with all political parties,” the ambassador said while responding to a question during an interaction with the media at the Embassy in the afternoon.

He expressed China’s hope to see stability, unity, and development in the country.

Yao Wen highlighted the growing cooperation between China and Bangladesh in emerging fields such as the digital economy, green economy, renewable energy, agriculture, and AI.

"China will also encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest and thrive in Bangladesh," the ambassador said, adding that this year, Bangladesh and China will hold a series of celebratory activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

He emphasized that China is ready to work with Bangladesh to use this milestone as a new starting point for strengthening their long-standing friendship, enhancing strategic communication, deepening practical cooperation, and advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

These efforts aim to elevate the China-Bangladesh comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights and embark on the next golden 50 years of relations.

In response to a question regarding loans, the ambassador clarified that China never attaches any conditions and pointed out that numerous landmark projects have been successfully implemented in various sectors.

He highlighted that Bangladesh and China have always supported each other as strategic partners.

Since the assumption of the interim government in August, he noted, 30 Chinese enterprises have signed agreements to invest in Bangladesh, with a total investment amounting to approximately $230 million.

The ambassador also reiterated that China is the largest investor in Bangladesh.

Additionally, he announced that China will begin importing mangoes and jackfruits from Bangladesh starting in May this year.
