Cox’s Bazar, Mar 01 (V7N) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui has strongly condemned the ongoing border killings of Bangladeshis by Indian forces, warning that such incidents will make the legal repatriation process of infiltrators more difficult.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly formed Ukhia Battalion of BGB in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning, the BGB chief emphasized that preventing border deaths remains a top priority.

Key Statements from BGB Chief:

  • Border killings are unacceptable – "Killings, whether due to infiltration or any other reason, cannot be a final solution."
  • Strong protests to India – BGB has lodged formal complaints against the continued killings.
  • Infiltration control efforts – The BGB is working to block unauthorized entry at the zero line to prevent such incidents.
  • Tighter response measures – If killings continue, Bangladesh will take stricter actions.

The BGB Director General warned that India's continued use of lethal force would lead to greater complications in the legal repatriation of infiltrators, potentially affecting diplomatic ties between the two nations.
