The government has enacted adjustments to fuel prices in accordance with global market trends. In the latest update, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been reduced by 75 paisa per liter, while petrol sees a decrease of Tk3 and octane Tk4 per liter.
The revised prices, as outlined in a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources on Thursday, will take effect from Friday.
According to the notification, the price of diesel and kerosene per liter has been decreased from Tk109 to Tk108.25. To prevent adulteration, the price of kerosene has been aligned with that of diesel.
Furthermore, the price of octane has been adjusted from Tk130 to Tk126, while petrol witnesses a decline from Tk125 to Tk122 per liter.
Under a new automatic system, prices will now be adjusted in the first week of each month based on international market fluctuations.
