Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conferred the prestigious "Best Joyeeta Award-2023" upon five exceptional women for their remarkable achievements across diverse fields at the national level. The awards were presented as part of the International Women's Day 2024 celebrations.
The Prime Minister, serving as the chief guest, presented the awards during a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city. State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain (Rimi) chaired the event, while Ministry Secretary Nazma Mobarek delivered the welcome address.
The recipients of the "Best Joyeeta Award-2023" are Anar Koli for her contributions in economics, Kallyani Minji for her achievements in education and employment, Komoli Robi Dash for exemplifying successful motherhood, Jahanara Begum for her efforts in repression prevention, and Pakhi Dutta Hijra for her contributions to social development.
In a heartfelt expression of gratitude on behalf of the awardees, Kallyani Minji shared her sentiments upon receiving the prestigious accolade.
Each recipient was honored with a cash prize of Taka one lakh, along with a crest, sash (Uttoriyo), and certificate, symbolizing their outstanding accomplishments.
The ceremony commenced with the screening of a documentary highlighting women's roles and the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
"Joyeeta," signifying triumph over adversity, embodies the resilience and unwavering spirit of women who overcome obstacles to achieve success.
Established by the government, the "Joyeeta Award" recognizes women achievers in five distinct categories: economic success, educational and professional accomplishments, exemplary motherhood, resilience in the face of adversity, and contributions to social development.
