DHAKA, May 19, (V7N) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan announced that Bangladeshi citizens are now eligible for visa facilities from Kuwait without the need for any special approval.

In a verified Facebook post today, the adviser stated, "Bangladeshi expatriates are getting visa facilities from Kuwait without any special permission, and this was officially disclosed by Ambassador to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareque Hossain."

He noted that Bangladeshi citizens have been benefiting from these relaxed visa regulations for the past week, although the information was not publicly disclosed until now. The adviser also highlighted that the ambassador has issued a stern warning against any attempts to forge visas.

In a separate post, Adviser Sajib Bhuiyan also addressed concerns regarding irregularities in foreign currency transactions by scheduled banks.

He pointed out that numerous banks are imposing exorbitant service charges, commissions, and inconsistent passport endorsement fees when selling foreign currency, which discourages customers from utilizing formal channels.

"To encourage people to buy foreign currency legally, the government has, for the first time, fixed the passport endorsement fee," Sajib stated.

"Banks can now charge a maximum of Taka 300 as the passport endorsement fee. Bangladesh Bank set the rate on Sunday. Banks are not allowed to charge any additional fee beyond the fixed endorsement amount," he added.
