Dhaka, June 2 (V7N) — The interim government's Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is set to preside over the second round of talks with political parties this afternoon as part of ongoing efforts to build national consensus on state reform.

The meeting, scheduled for 4:30 PM at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, will bring together representatives from all political parties involved in the ongoing dialogue process initiated by the National Consensus Commission.

This marks the second round of discussions since the commission's launch. The first phase concluded on May 19, following multiple rounds of dialogue with various political parties. These discussions are aimed at shaping key reform initiatives under the interim government's roadmap.

The National Consensus Commission, led by Dr. Yunus, officially began operations on February 15, 2025. Since March 20, it has been actively engaging political stakeholders to form a unified framework for state restructuring.

In a press briefing held in Dhaka on Sunday (June 1), Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, expressed optimism about the dialogue process. "We hope that we can reach the final stage of announcing the July Charter through this dialogue," he said.

He further stated that the dialogue process would continue in phases. Apart from today's meeting, two additional sessions are planned before and after Eid-ul-Azha to ensure broad-based political participation in shaping the nation's reform agenda.
