Dhaka, June 14 (V7N) — Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has returned home following a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying him landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:45 am on Saturday (June 14), according to a statement from the Chief Advisor’s press wing.

The delegation departed London’s Heathrow International Airport at 7:15 pm local time on Friday (June 13).

During the visit, Dr. Yunus held meetings with several prominent figures, including the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, and participated in a range of programs. A key highlight of the visit was when King Charles III presented him with Britain’s prestigious ‘King Charles Harmony Award’ in recognition of his contributions to global harmony and social welfare.

Additionally, Dr. Yunus met with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman during his stay in London. According to a joint statement issued after the meeting, it was held in a cordial atmosphere, coming at a time of heightened political tension in Bangladesh, amid ongoing disputes regarding the timing of elections and escalating confrontations between the government and opposition forces.

It is worth noting that Professor Yunus departed from Dhaka on June 9 for this important diplomatic and political visit.
