Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has launched efforts to resolve customer grievances related to mobile SIMs and internet services, while also examining issues such as audits of mobile operators and unfair competition.
The announcement came during a public hearing held on Tuesday (November 25) morning with customers, journalists, and stakeholders.
During the hearing, customers raised complaints including:

Lack of prior notice before SIM deactivation after 11 months

Unauthorized deductions from VAS (Value Added Services)

Delays in receiving MNP (Mobile Number Portability) benefits at customer care centers
Other common demands included reducing mobile internet prices, addressing broadband fiberization shortages, and withdrawing high taxes on mobile services.
The hearing was presided over by BTRC Vice Chairman Abu Bakar Siddique, with Brigadier General Md. Aminul Haque, Director General of Licensing and Spectrum Department, conducting the proceedings.
