After an 11-year hiatus, the flag of Bangladesh has once again been hoisted atop the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Babar Ali has become the fifth Bangladeshi to achieve this monumental feat, reaching the summit at 8:30 am Bangladesh time on Sunday. This news was confirmed by Farhan Zaman, the chief coordinator of the expedition, who relayed the information from the base camp team.

Babar Ali embarked on his journey to conquer Everest on April 1, aiming to tackle the cold peaks of the Himalayas. The expedition reached its culmination at the peak, standing 29,032 feet above sea level.

However, Babar's mountaineering ambitions extend beyond Everest. His next target is the nearby Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain in the world. After descending to Camp-4, he plans to commence his ascent towards Lhotse at midnight, aiming to reach its summit on Monday morning if all goes well.

Babar Ali, 33, is a graduate of Chittagong Medical College with an MBBS degree. Despite starting a medical career, he chose a different path, leaving his job to pursue his passion for travel and mountaineering. In addition to cycling, Babar has successfully climbed several other mountains, marking his name among the notable adventurers from Bangladesh.

His achievement not only highlights his personal dedication and bravery but also brings pride to Bangladesh as its flag waves once more from the pinnacle of the world.
