The impressive socioeconomic growth that Bangladesh has seen under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's direction was praised by Indian President Droupadi Murmu on Friday.

In order to support economic progress, she emphasized that both nations should collaborate to empower women, who make up half of the population.

At a meeting with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at Rashtrapati Bhaban, the Indian president delivered the following statement.

FM Hasan gave the Indian president a briefing of his visit and emphasized the importance of maintaining great ties with India.

President Murmu congratulated Hasan on being named Bangladesh's foreign minister.

She also complimented PM Hasina on establishing the government for a historic fifth term and being among the world's longest-serving female leaders.

She conveyed her satisfaction at the great friendship that now exists between India and Bangladesh.

According to her, India places a great value on its connections with Bangladesh. She mentioned that India's biggest commercial and development partner is Bangladesh.

The president should come to Bangladesh as soon as possible, the foreign minister asked.

Hasan also met the Vice President of India and the ex-officio chairman of the Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Indian Parliament.

He had a tour of the newly built parliament building of India.

India Committed to Ensure Economic, Financial Stability in Bangladesh:

Earlier in the morning, the foreign minister met Piyush Goyal, minister of commerce and industry of India and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The foreign minister mentioned that the new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina starts a fresh journey with new mandates, and one of the priorities of the government is to address the prices of essential commodities.
He requested the commerce minister to take necessary measures in ensuring uninterrupted supply of the essential commodities to Bangladesh till Ramadan.

According to Piyush Goyal, India is dedicated to maintaining Bangladesh's financial and economic stability.

He promised to fulfill the foreign minister of Bangladesh's request for the provision of necessities.

He placed a strong emphasis on enhancing bilateral trade and commercial relations.

According to the Bangladeshi side, another topic that came up during the conversation was the need to organize frequent meetings, such as the Commerce Minister Level Meeting, to discuss matters pertaining to trade and commerce.

Foreign Minister Hasan delivered keynote addresses on Thursday at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia and the esteemed Vivekananda International Foundation.

He discussed the relationship between Bangladesh and India over the past ten years and how to strengthen it going ahead in his two key note speeches.

The foreign minister is scheduled to attend a civic reception at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, where a number of diplomats, think tank members, and media representatives from Kolkata would be in attendance.

The Foreign Minister will be back in Dhaka on Friday evening.
