Black-coloured cars hold a special allure for a significant portion of car buyers, and Tata Motors has consistently aimed to meet this demand. Today, Tata unveiled the Dark Edition variant of their popular Nexon model, draped in a sleek black shade. Adding to the excitement, the Nexon EV also received the Dark Edition treatment. It's worth noting that the pre-facelift versions of the Nexon and Nexon EV were already available in the Dark Edition guise.

Priced at Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively, the Tata Nexon Dark Edition and Nexon EV Dark Edition come with various cosmetic enhancements. With the Nexon already holding a top spot in India's SUV market, Tata is optimistic that these new variants will further enhance its appeal among buyers.

Visually, both the Nexon Dark Edition and Nexon EV Dark Edition embody their namesakes, featuring an all-black colour scheme with black alloy wheels, roof rails, and the Tata logo. The interior follows suit with black leatherette seats, a dashboard, and a centre console.

Under the hood, the powertrain options remain unchanged. The Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 87bhp and 170Nm of torque, with a choice of manual, AMT, or DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 84.4bhp and 260Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or AMT. The Nexon EV Dark Edition retains its long-range variant, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 143bhp and 215Nm of torque, supported by a 40.5kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 465km on a single charge.

In addition to the Nexon models, Tata introduced Dark Edition variants of the Harrier and Safari today, priced at Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 20.69 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
