Dhaka, Dec 06 (V7N) — After a decline in the global market, the price of gold has dropped once again in the domestic market. On Tuesday (December 2), the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) reduced the price of gold by Tk 1,050 per bhori. As of today, Saturday (December 6), 22-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,11,095 per bhori.
In a notification, BAJUS said that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased, prompting an adjustment of local prices considering the overall market situation.
According to the updated price chart:
- 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams): Tk 2,11,095
- 21-carat gold per bhori: Tk 2,01,496
- 18-carat gold per bhori: Tk 1,72,709
- Traditional method gold per bhori: Tk 1,43,689
BAJUS also stated that the updated prices will remain effective in all jewelry stores across the country until further notice.
The association noted that an additional 5% government VAT and a minimum making charge of 6% set by BAJUS must be added to the selling price. However, the making charge may vary depending on a jewelry item's design and craftsmanship.
