The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association has announced a price hike of Tk10 per litre for soybean oil, with the new price set at Tk173 per litre. This adjustment, effective from Tuesday, was communicated through a press release.

The association also noted that the previous notification, which allowed for the import of raw materials for edible oil production without VAT exemption, expired on April 15. Consequently, refined palm oil and soybean oil will now be available in the market from April 16 at their previous prices, without VAT exemption.

As a result, consumers can expect to purchase bottled soybean oil at Tk173 per litre, with a five-litre bottle priced at Tk845, starting from Tuesday.
