Prior to the holy month of Ramadan, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has released a notification lowering import duties on dates, rice, edible oil, and sugar.

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem signed four distinct instructions in this respect.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued an order to lower the tariff on edible oil, sugar, dates, and rice in honor of Ramadan during the cabinet meeting that was held on January 29 at the Prime Minister's office.
