Sept 23, V7N - Alaska Airlines experienced an IT outage on Monday that caused widespread flight delays and a temporary ground stop for arrivals in Seattle. The disruption, which lasted about two hours, was caused by a certificate issue impacting multiple systems. The airline clarified that it was not the result of a cyber attack or unauthorized activity.

While the issue has been resolved, Alaska Airlines warned of residual effects on its operations. On Sunday night, the airline confirmed the outage on its social media account after users reported difficulties accessing its website and app.

This follows a similar incident in April, when the airline was forced to halt all flights due to an issue related to the system used for calculating the weight and balance of its planes.
